Horst Siedle had taken over the Furtwangen-based family business in 1970 and turned a solid company into one with a global reputation. When he died in 2019 at the age of 80, his wife Gabriele Siedle wrote: “He succumbed to a serious illness which he was able to keep at bay for longer than any prognosis had predicted.” From the year 2000 onwards, she had stood by her husband’s side as CEO and entrepreneur; since 2005, she had been solely responsible for the business of S. Siedle & Söhne. In times when much was changing in the field of building communication as a result of globalisation, digitalisation and intensified competition in rapid succession, this was anything but an easy undertaking.
Now Gabriele Siedle (71) is retiring from operational management. From now on, a team of three CEO’s will take over the entrepreneurial responsibility at SSS Siedle. Gabriele Siedle, it is reported, will remain associated with the company in other positions: She will remain a member of the Board of Directors of the family foundation and CEO of the holding company, which holds all the companies in the Siedle Group. The new management team consists of Jochen Cura, Peter Strobel and Christoph Weber. Jochen Cura (47) has been at the top of the company for many years as Commercial Director; Peter Strobel (60) was Head of Corporate Communications for nine years and has been the new Managing Director for Market and Innovation since January. Christoph Weber (44) has also worked for Siedle for many years in various positions; since January he has been the new Managing Director Technology.
According to Siedle, the new organisational structure with a three-man management team was a conscious decision to safeguard the identity of the medium-sized company and to make it fit for the future in line with the Siedle guidelines. “These guidelines are our compass for the long-term corporate strategy”, explained Peter Strobel. “Siedle has a very solid foundation on which to build. Our team personifies all the key competences we need: for the development of innovations and the refinement of digital business models as well as for more efficient production at the Furtwangen location under the framework conditions of Industry 4.0.”
