As part of the Open Day, the interested public can discover the award winners of the year 2022 as early as 3 October in an exhibition at the Hessian State Representation. On display are the eight award-winning products that break down barriers in all areas of everyday culture and enable universal use for all people.

The Hessian State Prize for Universal Design is awarded every two years jointly by the Hessian Ministry of Finance, the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration and the Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing. It has been run and actively supported by the German Design Council since its first edition in 2013.
