The Hessian State Award for Universal Design 2024 is once again calling for ground-breaking ideas and innovations for universal use. Companies, start-ups, designers, architecture and engineering offices, research institutions and non-profit organisations are invited to submit their projects. Students and graduates specialising in design can also apply for the Young Talent Award.
The competition focuses on questions related to the design of our future: How can we live together in a sustainable, aesthetic and inclusive way? Which products and environments can be used by people of all ages and backgrounds? We are looking for innovative concepts that support a barrier-free, sustainable society.
The Hessian State Award for Universal Design is awarded every two years by the Hessian Ministry of Finance, the Hessian Ministry of Labour, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs and the Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Housing and Rural Areas. Hesse’s Prime Minister, Boris Rhein, is the honorary ambassador of the competition. The German Design Council is responsible for the organisation and implementation of the award.
Applications will be accepted from 2 April to 26 July 2024, the jury will meet on 3 September 2024, and the award ceremony is scheduled for autumn 2024.
