Margriet Vollenberg is to curate Helsinki Design Week
The renowned Helsinki Design Week is considered the largest design event in the Nordic region. Every year since its creation in 2005 the festival presents new designers, with a focus on the hot topics of the day that have an impact on the design world. The organisers have just announced that Margriet Vollenberg will be curating the upcoming Helsinki Design Week in September 2020. Vollenberg is well-known within the international design scene as the founder of the Dutch agency “Organisation in Design”, which has been presenting Ventura Projects as a feature of the Milan Furniture Fair since 2005, and has developed this into one of the fair’s most important off-site events. For Helsinki Design Week, Margriet Vollenberg will make use of the recently renovated Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, originally built in 1938, as this year’s festival venue.
