Markentag has in recent years developed into a leading discussion platform for the future of branding in the German-speaking world. At this academic conference, young and established researchers discuss the current status of brand science with marketing and design professionals. Despite restrictions relating to the pandemic, this year’s event will not only include the expert discussion but will also help to maintain and expand networks in order to spark new research projects in the field of brand research. The “future designer” Uli Mayer-Johanssen, the design icon Alina Wheeler and the inspirational Kevin Lane Keller will feature as keynote speakers. Various science sessions and round tables will explore “practical impetus for brand management”, brand identity, the role of brand design and recommendations for brand management. Markentag will take place online on 16 September and is developed and organised by Mainz University of Applied Sciences, with students involved in running the conference. The event will have live moderation and be broadcast from the LUX pavilion, which acts as a showcase for the university.
