People in Design – Award: Michael Anastassiades Designer of the Year 2020
Michael Anastassiades held his first major solo exhibition at NiMAC in Nicosia in March of this year in which the work of the Cypriot designer was extensively presented. Anastassiades introduced himself and his lamps for the first time at the Maison&Objet in Paris in 2007. Now in January 2020, the exhibition will honour him with the Designer of the Year Award. Simple shapes and volumes characterise his designs which, despite their simplicity, posses an unmistakable and poetic design language. All models from the Mobile Chandeliers collection by Anastassiades will be exhibited for the first time in a special show at Maison&Objet in Paris from 17 to 21 January 2020.
