The current political discussions about global climate change and the replacement of oil and gas heating with alternatives such as heat pumps, district heating, and geothermal energy have transformed the “International Sanitation and Heating Fair” (ISH) into a forum for the most recent advances. The demand for future-proof solutions is enormous, and the issue of which technology in which constellation makes sense in terms of climate policy while also being practicable must be addressed. The world’s leading trade fair for water, heat, and air, which will be held at the Frankfurt Trade Fair Centre from March 13 to 17, 2023, will also have a lot to offer in terms of innovative solutions for saving and treating water, as well as for air quality and temperature, which will “contribute to the achievement of climate protection goals and enable the responsible and efficient use of available resources,” according to the announcement. ISH 2023, with the slogan “Solutions for a Sustainable Future,” brings together product areas such as sanitation solutions, energy and air-conditioning technology, and intelligent building control.

In the ISH Energy section, the trade fair, as the leading international event for efficiency technologies and renewable energies in the heating market, demonstrates which already marketable solutions the European industry is creating for the Green Deal. When it comes to achieving climate protection goals, the dual strategy of high-tech heating systems and a green energy mix takes centre stage. Another focus is on intelligently networked building systems that connect heat pumps, stationary batteries, and e-mobility. In the field of refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation technology, the focus is on “the foodstuff air”. On show will be future-proof integral solutions for improving air quality, automation and comfort – “with a simultaneous increase in energy efficiency and the increased inclusion of renewable energies”. And “the world’s largest showroom for modern bathroom concepts and sustainable sanitation solutions” is hidden behind the keyword ISH Water. The Bathroom Experience displays everything from high-tech to high-end design. Modern installation systems, water treatment plants, software solutions for the sanitary, heating, and air-conditioning sectors, as well as tools and fixing materials that meet the most recent drinking water hygiene and materiality requirements, round out the product range on display in the ISH Water section.

Furthermore, numerous events address current industry developments and provide opportunities for information, discussion, and networking. Last but not least, the Design Plus Innovation Award provides guidance in a wide variety of products and ideas. The renowned competition, organised by Messe Frankfurt with the support of the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung), awards prizes on future-oriented goods that provide an optimal balance of sustainability, aesthetics, and functionality.
