From 12 to 22 May, the BERLIN DESIGN WEEK will take place for the fifth time and this year is dedicated to defining a more sustainable, “better future”. Design takes on the role of observer, mediator and solution provider: “We believe that design can play a key role in overcoming the enormous challenges of our time. Our goal is to show how designers* worldwide drive social change and promote economic innovation through their work,” says Alexandra Klatt, Director of the BERLIN DESIGN WEEK. After a largely virtual BNDNWK 2021, physical events such as exhibitions, lectures, presentations, participatory projects and networking events will once again form the core of the festival – taking place throughout the city and presenting a wide range of sophisticated and current design projects aimed at a professional audience as well as design enthusiasts and interested parties.
