Veronika Aumann appointed Professor of Textile Design in Stuttgart
There has been a new appointment to the textile design professorship at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. With Veronica Aumann in the role, the academy has gained a professor who positions her personal research and design work between the digital and the material. In her eyes, traditional textile designs and new technologies provide a basis for connecting products and people. After studying design at the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin and Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, Veronika Aumann started Berlin-based pattern workshop Pattern Studio with fashion designer Nina Gekeler, worked as a freelance designer and devoted herself to the study of digital materials. The focus of Veronika Aumann’s teaching – alongside instruction in the core creative, conceptual and technical competencies of textile design – is on firmly integrating the subjects associated with “New Materials and Technologies” into pedagogy.
