Every year, the German Design Council awards the German Design Award “Newcomer” to young designers. In 2019, 5 finalists were selected from 188 nominated design talents from German design schools: the designer duo Luisa Rubisch & Rasa Weber, Frauke Zoë Taplik, Essi Johanna Glomb, Luzia Hein and Gabriel Müller (as seen above from left to right).

At the awards ceremony in February, which took place on the occasion of Ambiente in Frankfurt am Main, Luzia Hein was particularly delighted: She was honoured with the “Newcomer 2019” award and received the associated prize money of 15,000 euros. The Newcomers 2019 deal with a wide range of topics. We present the design talents and their work at ndion.
