The STIHL Group is known for high-quality engine-powered equipment for forestry and agriculture, landscape and garden maintenance and the construction industry. Since 1971, STIHL has been the world’s best-selling chainsaw brand. The product range is complemented by digital solutions and services. Founded in 1926 and headquartered in Waiblingen, Germany, the company manufactures in seven countries: Germany, USA, Brazil, Switzerland, Austria, China and the Philippines. With 20,552 employees worldwide, Stihl achieved a turnover of 5.49 billion euros in 2022.
As part of an extensive expansion of its headquarters, the family-owned company has now opened its own brand world in Waiblingen. Situated directly on the banks of the River Rems and with a view of the countryside, the STIHL Brand World covers an exhibition area of a good 1,500 square metres on three levels. In addition to the development of the company and its innovative products (from the beginnings of forestry work with the first two-man saws to the current status and future fields of application), the focus is to be on “the fascination for the forest”, which has been inextricably linked with the brand since the company was founded by Andreas Stihl. At the centre of the brand world will be a knowledge platform developed in cooperation with international experts from science and forestry, which combines research with practice and was curated by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bauhus from the University of Freiburg. An amphitheatre for product demonstrations, a café and a brand shop round off the offer.
For Dr Nikolas Stihl, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Supervisory Board, the new building is an investment in the future and a strong commitment to the Waiblingen headquarters: “The total investment of more than 100 million euros, by far the most expensive construction project in our company’s history, once again underlines STIHL’s deep commitment to the location and the region. The Brand World is the centrepiece of the modernisation and comprehensive expansion of the STIHL headquarters. It offers visitors the opportunity to get to know our family-owned company with our philosophy, history, present and also future in an informative and interactive way.”
The exhibition is intended to appeal to a broad public as well as professionals. For individual visitors, the Brand World will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 30 September. Tickets can be booked online from mid-September.
