Anyone watching the video of the flying scooter whizzing through the air will involuntarily think of some science fiction film or a gadget that Q developed for Agent 007 James Bond. The Jetson ONE is apparently a quite manoeuvrable small aircraft for one person. It is made of aluminium and carbon fibre and is powered by eight powerful electric motors. The flying object from the Swedish company Jetson is said to be easy to fly and can stay in the air for 20 minutes on one battery charge.

Founded in 2017 by Peter Ternström and Tomasz Patan, the company’s mission is to change the way we travel. “Our goal,” reads Jetson’s website, “is to make the sky accessible to everyone – with our safe personal electric aircraft.” A complete vehicle costs US$92 000. It is delivered as a 50% pre-assembled kit. In addition to detailed assembly instructions, it contains all the necessary components, from the aluminium space frame to motor controls, propellers and motors. Those who pay $22,000 can reserve their own Jetson ONE. Production is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2022.
