one&twenty 2024 : These are the winners!
one&twenty 2024

The 21 winners of one&twenty 2024, the German Design Council’s competition for young designers, have been announced.

This year’s competition was once again judged by a top-class international jury, which viewed all the entries and selected the best projects. 21 design students and graduates from the fields of product design and lifestyle sought – and found – outstanding design solutions for the challenges of our time.

The winning projects were chosen based on their use of advanced technologies, innovative materials and deep understanding of the interplay between sustainability, interdisciplinarity and collaboration. They demonstrate that sustainability is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the design process. Several winners tackled the problem of the growing throwaway culture. The solution: circular design approaches. If consumer goods are made from easily replaceable components from the outset, repairing them becomes easier and more attractive than disposing of them.

Lutz Dietzold, Managing Director of the German Design Council, said of this year’s winners: “The award-winning projects demonstrate the power of good design to create real solutions for the future and thus sustainably advance the ability of companies to transform themselves. The task of companies is to integrate these concepts and visions of design talents and to create the space for creative and solution-oriented design”.

On 15 April, the winners will be honoured at a new exhibition venue in Milan’s Brera district. One project will also be awarded the ‘Best of Best’ prize at the opening of the exhibition. The exhibition will run during the Salone del Mobile.

Here you can find an overview of the 21 one&twenty 2024 winners and their projects.

The exhibition is supported by QLOCKTWO.
