Raf Simons joins Prada
The Prada brand and the fashion it produces are inextricably related to, and associated with, Miuccia Prada. But Prada also represents amazing, original, and brand-new projects, collaborations and approaches, which are not only of interest to the fashion world. The news that Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons will take up the position of Co-Creative Director at Prada from April 2020 is only surprising at first glance. In this partership of equals, Miuccia Prada expects Simons to give his input and take part in decisions which will shape the style of future collections. This is a forward-looking decision for the brand, which must also take into account new approaches in the fashion industry. The first collection to be co-designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons will be the women’s clothing collection for Spring / Summer 2021, which will be presented in Milan in September 2020.
