Anna Dziwetzki, New Director of Porzellanikon

Wilhelm Siemen, the founding director and manager of Porzellanikon, has gone into retirement after almost 35 years at his post. Founded as the State Museum for Porcelain in 1985 in the German town of Hohenberg an der Eger/Selb, this institute houses a collection that is unmatched by any other in Europe, with almost 200,000 objects dating from the 18th century until the present day. The focus of the collection is on industrially manufactured products from the 19th to the 21st century. The museum is located in one of the most historically important regions of the German porcelain industry. The product archives of Rosenthal AG, and Hutschenreuther AG also form part of the collection. Anna Dziwetzki has been appointed as the new director of this extraordinary museum. According to Bernd Sibler, the Bavarian State Minister for Science and Art, the experience she has gained throughout her studies and while working for several museums gives her the right expertise to lead Porzellanikon into the future.
