Setting an example for mobility: An exhibition in Zurich

Swiss design is synonymous with high-quality products. And rail-based mobility is no exception: with the highest traffic density in Europe and the busiest railway network worldwide, Switzerland’s train stations and trains are a distinctive, internationally recognised symbol of the country’s public transport system. That Swiss passenger transport is so far ahead of the game is due not only to the focused and forward-looking political attention the sector has enjoyed for many years, but also to the innovative design reflected first and foremost in the brand image of the national railway company, Swiss Federal Railways. The exhibition SBB CFF FFS, presented by the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, showcases for the first time the national railway company’s more than 100-year contribution to the history of Swiss design, with a sweeping look at its achievements in the areas of architecture, industrial design and visual communication. The exhibition is scheduled to run until 5 January 2020.
